HHLA Pure service expanded to include connections to and from Istanbul

In fresh years, all METRANS rail transports within the framework of HHLA Pure to and from the ports of Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Wilhelmshaven, Rotterdam, Duisburg, Gdansk, Trieste, Koper, Rijeka and along the Silk Road from Malaszewicze to all hinterland terminal connections have been certified by TÜV Nord in accordance with TN-CC 020.

Our HHLA Pure service was expanded in 2025 to include connections to and from Istanbul and was besides successfully certified by TÜV Nord.

With HHLA Pure, METRANS is reducing its carbon footprint by making a financial contribution to climate protection in the form of Gold Standard certificates – presently for the wind power plant task in Düezova, Turkey. There, around 92,000 tonnes of CO2 are saved annually by wind turbines.

Although METRANS locomotives in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands are powered exclusively by green electricity and only electrical locomotives from Siemens and Bombardier are utilized on all long-distance routes, METRANS has already offset 230,000 tonnes of CO2 and is thus making a valuable contribution to environmental protection.
